WELCOME to the website of KA ‘OHANA O HONU‘APO, a community-based, tax-exempt nonprofit located in Na‘alehu in the District of Ka‘u on Hawai‘i Island. 

Led by a nine-member diverse board of passionate volunteers, Ka ‘Ohana is dedicated to protecting the 225 acres of Honu‘apo Park, now the largest county shoreline park in the State of Hawai‘i. 

With more than a mile of coastline, Honu‘apo Park holds invaluable natural resources, and historical and cultural sites going back hundreds of years.   If you have any questions, comments, or need more information, please contact us at the phone number, address, or edress, below:

Ka ‘Ohana O Honu‘apo’s mission is “to restore, care for and protect the natural and cultural resources within the Honu‘apo area. Utilizing the values of malama ‘aina (care for the land), kupono (honesty and integrity), and kuleana (duty and responsibility), we will work in community partnerships to preserve this area for future generations.”
